Respite Care

Respite care provides short-term support designed to give carers a well-deserved break while ensuring the person receiving care continues to feel safe, supported, and comfortable. There are several respite care options available to suit different needs and situations, including:

  • In-home respite: gives carers a break by having another carer step in to help at home for a short time.
  • Residential respite: offers short-term care in an Australian aged care facility, providing support while carers take a break.
  • Emergency short-term home relief (ESTHR): provides immediate, short-term care at home if a carer is unexpectedly unable to continue their caring role.
